systems, energy storage renewable energy technologies and spare parts.
Stellantis AVTEC Powertrain is a JV between Stellantis and Avtec group. They
manufacture next generation technologically advanced gearboxes and eco-friendly
engines. IH is primarily used here for Shrink fitting application.
Shrink fitting is a manufacturing technique in which thermal expansion and contraction effects are used to achieve an interference fit.
- Heating / Cooling: The outer part is heated to increase its diameter. This expansion allows the inner part to be easily inserted.
- The two parts are then assembled
- The heated part is allowed to cool
- As the parts return to room temperature, the heated part shrinks creating an interference fit and tight.
